1ST RACE:
Bold 'n Brawny - 4-wide runner-up from outside post late-May at Hollypark in last, in the money 4 of 5 starts this year with a trio of runner-up efforts, freshened again since raced, Solis stays on Spawr trainee, sitting on a win. Mr Bulldog - 6-wide and closed 9 lengths for close 4th at a mile over this track in last, won routing while claimed three races back, drops a level now, Berrio/Avila combo productive team, will make late impact. Value Play -- Pueblo Peak
2ND RACE:
Cut To Paris - Chased from outside post and came up empty in debut over this track in last, pair of works since, takes drop to claimer now, draws another outside post, Flores stays, might stay the distance for diploma.
Inside Story - Wide early and outrun in Hollypark turf sprint in last, no threat in debut before that, now drops to claimer, draws better post for this, gets first time lasix, expect improvement here.
Value Play -- Masquerade Star
3RD RACE:
Glaize - No rally in return to races in last, showed some signs of life when 5th in 2 of 3 prior U.S. starts on lawn, takes nosedive in class and shortens up on the main track now, Valdivia stays for the money run here, now or never. Tipsy Pete - 4-wide from outside post, loomed up then finished 3rd in last, in the quinella 22 of 38 starts on fast dirt tracks with 10 victories, makes second start off the claim by trainer Carava, struggling rider Alvarado takes over. Value Play -- Tiz the Whiz
4TH RACE:
Outstanding Hero - Promising colt was 5-wide and runner-up in comeback sprint at Hollypark off a 4-month layoff in last, close 8th in Grade III Anita stakes down the hill in blanket finish in only turf outing before that, had race, beware. Wandering - Dueled lead and weakened while 3rd in opening day turf feature over this course in last, runner-up in prior pair of outings, in the quinella 7 of 11 lifetime starts with a pair of victories, good post, a factor throughout. Value Play -- Lord Cunningham
5TH RACE:
Scottish Memories - 1st time starter by Roanoke, steady solid works with a pair of nice gate moves from most recent trio of drills with the latest over this track, trainer Cecil having good meet, needs prompt start from outside post. Slew City Lady - 1st time starter by Slew City Slew, another with solid worktab, 3 of last 8 drills from the gate with most recent over this track on the 7th, gets first time lasix as well, trainer Dollace tabs Gomez for debut. Value Play -- Wicked Illusion
6TH RACE:
Sizzling Summer - Shipped to Northern California and won last in gate-to-wire fashion after good runner-up effort before that, outrun in two state-bred Del Mar stakes last year, but returns here sharp and well placed now, Solis for trainer Hollendorfer. Deep and Sleek - Pressed early when 3-wide and gave way while outrun over this track in last, gate-to-wire maiden breaker at Pleasanton before that, drops to claimer off good Del Mar work before raced, competitively placed now, expect improvement here. Value Play -- Sprucity
7TH RACE:
Isle de France - Chased Tuzla and was getting to that one in late stages while close runner-up on Hollypark lawn in last, won prior pair of outings in solid showings, in the quinella in all 5 U.S. starts, turns the tables here, McCarron/McAnally team. Tuzla - Tough mare changes barns from Canani to Baffert with recent purchase, has won 11 of 18 lifetime starts and in the quinella 14 times, 3-for-3 this year, 3-for-3 on Del Mar course, 4-for-4 at this distance, what's not to like? Value Play -- Green Jewel
