Joe L. Allen
Joe L. Allen, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. He was born Jan. 30, 1929, in Independence, Mo. A resident for 21 years, he was an electronics inspector at a manufacturing company for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; five sons, Vincent Allen, Rick Allen and Carl Allen, all of Las Vegas, Sonny Allen of California Valley, Calif., and Brian Allen of Norwich, Kan.; one brother, Alvin C. Allen of St. Cloud, Fla.; two sisters, Norma Breuts of Independence and Betty Karr of Lincoln, Neb.; one brother, Alvin C. Allen of St. Cloud; and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. today in First Christian Church, 101 S. Rancho Drive. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to First Christian Church, 101 S. Rancho Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
Nedraetta 'Nedra' Fletcher
Nedraetta 'Nedra' Fletcher, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 10, 1917, in Manaca, Pa. A resident for 47 years, she was a retired co-owner of Nedras Beauty Salon for 28 years and a member of the auxiliary at St. Jude's Ranch for Children.
She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Moylan of Las Vegas and Shirley Allen of Silverdale, Wash.; one son, Ron Fletcher of Las Vegas; one sister, Mildred Circle of Pueblo, Colo.; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
The family suggests donations to St. Jude's Ranch for Children Inc., 100 St. Jude, Boulder City, NV 89005.
Frances Mary Garofalo
Frances Mary Garofalo, 66, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born May 15, 1933, in Italy. A resident for four years, she was a steam presser.
She is survived by one son, Joseph Mozyaski; and one sister, Mary Anne Forsythe.
A memorial service will be Thursday at Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Michael J. Halbett
Michael J. Halbett, 29, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 9, 1969, in Las Vegas. A resident for 11 years, he was employed with Smith's supermarkets for 11 years.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; his parents, Howard and Irene Halbett; two sons, Tyler M. Halbett and Dylan Z. Halbett; one brother, Howard Halbett Jr.; and two sisters, Cynthia Pappa and Kathy Wiechec.

Robert Eric Jalonen
Robert Eric Jalonen, 47, of Las Vegas died July 29 in a local hospital. He was born April 21, 1952, in Springfield, Vt. A resident for 19 years, he was a hospital maintenance worker.
He is survived by one son, Robert Jalonen, and one daughter, Shannon Jalonen, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Carol R. Powers of Longmeadow, Mass.; three brothers, Stephen E. Jalonen of Las Vegas, Peter Jalonen of Angier, N.C., and Michael Jalonen of Sommers, Conn.; and one sister, Kaaren Maloney of Enfield, Conn.

Walter Kilduff
Walter Kilduff, 83, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 30, 1916, in New Jersey. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired brake operator for AT&T for more than 30 years and was an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by one brother, Thomas of Bayonne, N.J.; two sisters, Mary Burke of Brickerton, N.J., and Marguerite Dinardo of Belmar, N.J.; and 16 nieces and nephews.
Ngoun Chu La
Ngoun Chu La, 53, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 1, 1946. A resident for six years, he was a teacher.
He is survived by his wife, Leav; one daughter, Lum Ung, and one son, Pross Ung, both of Las Vegas.
Visitation was scheduled 2-3 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will be private.
Ruth Lange-Peery
Ruth Lange-Peery, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 10, 1938, in Roseburg, Ore. A resident for 36 years, she was a Clark County School District custodian.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold; three daughters, Theresa Lange, Diana Lindquist and Darla Giangregorio, all of Las Vegas; two sons, Doug Lange of Salt Lake City and Tracy Lange of Las Vegas; two sisters, Susan Mahan of Idaho and Marylin Drew of Oregon; three brothers, Roger Hand of Texas, Ronald Hand of Washington state and Phil Hand of South Carolina; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Cartiert LDS Ward Chapel. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Chance Michael Muldrew, 3 months, died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 30, 1999, in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Jamie.

Arthur "Arturo" Ostap, 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 28, 1917, in Russia. A resident for 44 years, he was a hotel lounge manager.
He is survived by one stepdaughter, Patti Gans of Nevada.

Richard Lee Peacock, 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Ohio. A resident for two years, he was a troubleshooter for General Motors for 30 years, a hospital volunteer with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Cooties, a Navy veteran for 12 years and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara.

Max Schechtman
Max Schectman, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for nine years, he was a retired restaurateur, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Culinary Union and the Knights of Pythias.
He is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Schechtman and Morrisa Schechtman, both of Las Vegas; one son, Barry Schechtman of Stamford, Conn.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today and 11 a.m.-noon Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Bernese; one son, Dennis Shapiro; one daughter, Eunice Marks; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

William Frederick Stern, 84, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 22, 1915, in San Francisco. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired Army colonel and World War II veteran, a former member of Centennial 47 Masonic Lodge, a member for 50 years of Masonic Lodges 44 and 55 and a member of Hadassah Associates.
He is survived by his wife, Alberta; three daughters, Deborah Simmons of Great Falls, Va., Jennifer Stern of Reno and Alyson Rietgraf of Sacramento; and four grandchildren.

Otella A. Tighe, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 8, 1917, in Boine City, Mich. A resident for 23 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, George; three daughters, Colleen Putman of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Kathleen Tighe and Jacqueline Kuhar, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Betty Mullen of Ross Common, Mich.; and three grandchildren.

Dr. Sylvester Urquhart, 70, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 19, 1928, in Ramer, Ala. A resident for seven years, he was a retired dentist and a Korean War Air Force veteran and a member of Xavier Alumni in New Orleans.
He is survived by his wife, Ophelia "Simmons" Urquhart; one daughter, Sylvia Pope of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Kim Workman
Kim Workman, 43, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 28, 1955, in Barberton, Ohio. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired secretary at a local mortuary.
She is survived by her husband, John N.; two daughters, Nicole Workman and Heather Workman, both of Henderson; her parents, Bob and Juanita Downs of Doylestown, Ohio; and one brother, Terry Downs of Canal Fulton, Ohio.
