Letter: Other states get more tax money from gaming

One alternative way to pay for it would be with Steve Wynn's "art tax break." Another suggestion is with the increased gaming tax. Our new mayor (who I voted for) stated he was against a gaming tax increase, saying that casinos are already paying their fair share of taxes. However, the new MGM Casino in Detroit will pay tax rates of 8.1 percent and 8.9 percent to the city and state, I believe it was reported. Each entity will get more revenue than Nevada. Most of the other states that have gaming also receive a much higher tax rate than does Nevada.
Where is Sen. Joe Neal's petition to sign?
