A Las Vegas ice making company, Mr. Ice, was sold to Packaged Ice Inc. of Houston.
Officials said Mr. Ice, 1201 Searles Ave., has 55 employees and delivers up to 10 million bags per year locally. Las Vegas is one of Packaged Ice's top five to 10 markets.
Packaged Ice Inc. said it's the largest manufacturer and distributor of packaged ice in the United States. The Las Vegas deal was part of a transaction in which it acquired 17 ice companies nationwide for $15.1 million in the form of 55 percent cash and 45 percent common stock.
