1ST RACE:
Star Maker - No rally in Hollypark stakes mid-June in last, broke maiden from inside post for a tag before that, freshened since raced with pair of works, draws rail and reunites with winning rider Desormeaux for this. Pam's Request - Stalked, led and cleared to break maiden in last, crowded while debut 3rd before that, Solis vacates another to scale here, pair of Del Mar works since raced, has speed to be foward factor from outer post. Value Play -- Divine Design
2ND RACE:
New York New York -- Dueled lead, cleared then overtaken when 2nd while claimed mid-June in last, led and overtaken late when close 4th before that, most recent solid Del Mar work on 7/31, reunites with Nakatani for new connections. Ke Bound - Steadied when distant 4th in needed outing in last, second-best work of 35 at Del Mar on the 4th since raced, significant jockey change to Solis for this, coming around for a graduation soon. Value Play -- Slew the Groom
3RD RACE:
King Slayer - Made up 14 lengths to close within a length of the win while close 3rd at a mile on Hollypark lawn in last, split field when 5th in U. S. debut before that, Gomez returns on Vienna trainee, make third start stateside here. Motto - First career grass try was a maiden breaker at Hollypark in last, pair of Del Mar works since raced with most recent move on the seaside lawn, versatility is a plus, Solis returns on Mandella trainee, repeat within reach. Value Play -- Sea Birds Treasure
4TH RACE:
Codger - 1st time starter by Danzig offspring, solid worktab with a bullet drill at Hollypark on 6/29, good most recent Del Mar gate work on the 4th, draws good inner post, well placed, trainer Moreno tabs hustling Vergara for debut. Is Royalty - 1st time starter by Seattle Slew offspring, another with solid worktab for these, another that is well placed but draws outside post here, must break prompt to be a factor, bred to be swift. Value Play -- Prairie Son
5TH RACE:
Wine With Pride - Dueled lead from rail post and weakened to distant 5th off 6-week layoff in last, registered bullet drill on 7/30 since raced, Flores takes over on Dominguez trainee, drops to action spot, had race, beware. Princess Candi - Scratched from Thursday race for this spot, dueled early then outfinished to 3rd routing when in need of an outing in last, won 3 of 4 prior starts, 1-for-1 at this distance, Solis stays here for trainer Spawr, well placed. Value Play -- Sparkling Spirit
6TH RACE:
Lyrics 'n Laughter - Closed 8 lengths while 4-wide when runner up on Hollypark lawn early-June in last, late outside bid when debut 3rd on same before that, steady solid works since raced, Gomez stays for green graduation. Magic Hill - Late bid while making up 10 lengths while wide and 3rd on Hollypark lawn in last, exclusive career outings on turf, draws good inner post here, Solis returns, has had many chances, but change of scenery may provide diploma. Value Play -- No Etal
7TH RACE:
Bright Magic - Dueled lead, cleared and won restricted stakes over this track in last, broke maiden for state-breds before that, nice Del Mar drill since raced, stretches out two-turns here, Desormeaux returns for repeat try. T. G. 's Girl - Stalked pace and close runner-up sprinting on Hollypark lawn in last, won at same three races back, in the quinella 9 of 14 lifetime starts with a trio of victories, tries stretching out again, draws good inner post, maybe? Value Play -- Puddy Cat
8TH RACE:
Stewardi Can - Squeezed at the start and made up 11 lengths while closing 3rd sprinting in last, 4th in comeback before that, 1 of 3 career victories at this distance, nice work over this track since raced, makes third start since return. Shariqah - Split horses when 4th sprinting over this track in last with best effort since maiden breaker four races back, stretches out now, should like the added distance here, Gomez stays, good spot for action. Value Play -- Bubble Champ
