Money OK’d for Windsor Park moves
Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999 | 10:41 a.m.
Money for the relocation of two more Windsor Park residents was approved at Wednesday night's North Las Vegas City Council meeting.
About 50 homeowners and their families still live in the sinking development off Martin Luther King Boulevard and Carey Avenue.
The city has been moving residents out of Windsor Park since 1996 when the homes there became worthless after sinking ground buckled foundations and sidewalks, cracked plumbing and ruptured gas lines.
An influx of money from the Federal National Mortgage Association, or Fannie Mae, in February has sped up the process of moving people out of Windsor Park.
