County gives pact for Metro facility

Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999 | 11:02 a.m.

The Clark County Commission awarded Haydon Building Corp. the $5.5 million contract Tuesday to build Metro Police's new 911 communications center.

Heavy traffic around Metro's current building on West Russell Road near Interstate 15 prompted the county to construct a new facility rather than engage in a renovation project.

The 31,245-square-foot facility will be at 4591 W. Russell Road, just down the road from the existing building. County officials did not say when the building will be completed.
