Seven dental practices in LV sold

InterDent Inc. of El Segundo, Calif., acquired 10 of Amerident Dental's 11 practices in four cities to boost its presence on the West Coast and to expand into the growing Las Vegas market.
Company officials declined to reveal the value of the acquisition, but said the combined annualized net patient revenue of the 10 Amerident practices is about $12 million.
Seven of the 10 are in Las Vegas, while the remaining three are in Reno, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Dublin, Calif. The company also acquired two small, separate practices in Detroit and Idaho Falls, Idaho, which have a combined annualized patient revenue of $1 million.
The individual Amerident dental offices will retain their name and all their workers under the new management, Grant Sadler, Interdent's co-founder and senior vice-president, said. There are no immediate plans to hire new workers, he said.
"The Amerident acquisition adds to our critical mass in Las Vegas, one of the most vibrant and demographically desirable regions in the valley," said Steven Matzkin, InterDent's co-chairman, president and chief dental officer.
"InterDent's Las Vegas area presence now totals 12 locations, making us the largest provider in Las Vegas. And our acquisition of the Reno practice marks our entry into the Northern Nevada market," Michael Fiore, InterDent's co-chairman and chief executive, said.
