Convention authority wants to improve bowling stadium

The $50.2 million facility has been criticized for huge cost overruns during its construction, for limited use and for consequential money losses.
The changes all will occur on the floor where next year's women's tournament will take place on the 80 lanes.
They will include cutting new concession areas under the grandstands that will open toward the lanes, bridging the massive atrium to better connect the eastern and western halves of the building, moving a test lane inside the pro shop eastward to open new office space for tournament managers along the floors western windows and removing the glass enclosing the pro shop area.
There also is talk about completing the unfinished south end of the stadium, which could create 40,000 square feet of visitors authority office space over two floors for staff that will be displaced when the Reno-Sparks Convention Center is renovated and expanded.
