A nationwide plan by Sprint Corp. to cut 700 jobs by June in its local service division will have minimal impact in Las Vegas, a spokesman said.
A memorandum sent to Sprint employees by Michael Fuller, the local division president, said most of the 700 job cuts would be made through attrition.
Local Sprint spokesman Rob McCoy said there is no concrete number of how many jobs will be cut in Las Vegas.
"It could be zero up to 12 to 15," McCoy said.
He said the positions to be cut would not impair Sprint's ability to meet growth needs. McCoy emphasized that the cuts in Las Vegas would occur through retirements and voluntary moves.
Sprint has about 62,000 employees systemwide with 26,000 in the local service division and 1,900 in Las Vegas.
