UNLV’S Anderson to represent U.S. in golf’s Palmer Cup
Thursday, April 29, 1999 | 11:07 a.m.
UNLV golfer Jeremy Anderson has been selected to represent the United States in the third annual Palmer Cup, which will be played at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tennessee, June 12-13.
Anderson will be making his second straight appearance in the event. He is the second UNLV golfer to participate in the event; former Rebel Ted Oh competed in the inaugural Palmer Cup. That squad was captained by UNLV head coach Dwaine Knight.
The Palmer Cup, a Ryder Cup-style competition for college golfers, is organized and presented by the Golf Coaches Association of America and is sponsored by The Arnold Palmer Golf Company. It will feature top United States men's collegiate players competing against their counterparts from Great Britain and Ireland.
Players will compete in four fourball matches, four foursome matches and 16 singles matches over a two-day period.
