Emery Slayden showed no emotion as the jury returned its verdict Wednesday night after five hours of deliberation.
Slayden was also convicted of felony child abuse and neglect in connection with an earlier injury to the child's leg.
Jurors who convicted Slayden will return Friday for the sentencing phase. He could receive a maximum of life without the possibility of parole.
Prosecutors said the victim, Yazmine Doram, died of brain damage caused by what is referred to as "shaken baby syndrome."
