A company that provided a business lead for an in-hotel room television advertising business has settled a lawsuit filed in District Court.
Kaufman & Associates signed a finder's fee agreement with Players Network Inc., which broadcasts advertising into resort cable television systems, on Aug. 4. Under the agreement, Kaufman was entitled to 10 percent of the gross value of a contract for referrals made to Players.
The suit filed earlier this month says Kaufman & Associates introduced Players to Illinois-based Sourcecorp Inc., an advertising company, and the meeting resulted in a $500,000 contract signed Aug. 24.
The suit said the defendants were asked to pay the $50,000 finder's fee, but did not respond.
An attorney for Kaufman & Associates said the suit was settled to the company's satisfaction. Robert Qualey said the settlement included cash, stock and trade-out equal to just over $50,000.
