Carl Baxter, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 31, 1918, in Fresno, Calif. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired real estate broker, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Armenian American Culture Society of Las Vegas, Triple X Fraternity of Las Vegas and the Masons.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; one son, Russell Baxter of Glendale, Calif.; one daughter, Carla Leas of Castroville, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the Armenian-American Culture Club of Las Vegas.
Edward W. Bittner Sr.
Edward W. Bittner Sr., 76, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born July 29, 1922, in Ware, Mass. A resident for three years, he was a retired plant manager for a can processing company, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Antoinette M.; one son, Edward W. Bittner Jr. of Midlothian, Ill.; two daughters, Cynthia A. Bittner of Las Vegas and Angela M. Phillips of Lockport, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
R. Glenn Booth
R. Glenn Booth, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 19, 1921, in Oklahoma. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired hotel musician, a member of Zelzah Shrine Temple, Daylite Masonic Lodge 44 and the Musicians Union.
He is survived by one cousin, Vincent Gagliardi of Las Vegas.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Masonic Lodge on Mesquite Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Phyllis Jean Catagnus
Phyllis Jean Catagnus, 68, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Omaha, Neb. She was born Aug. 4, 1930, in Bradford, Pa. A resident for 21 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Philip B. Catagnus of Las Vegas; one daughter, Sandra K. Price of Omaha; one brother, Clint Traver of Tampa, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Edward Davis
Edward Davis, 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 5, 1931, in Earle, Ark. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired hotel cook and a member of the Culinary Union for 35 years.
He is survived by five daughters, Mildred Brown of North Las Vegas and Equilla Thomas, Delores Davis, LaWana and ShaWana, all of Las Vegas; two sons, James E. Davis and Robert Hopkins, his godchild, Omar Marshall, and one brother, Albert Davis Jr., all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Rose Singleton and Cornelius Dunn, both of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Juanita Cox of San Diego; two special friends, LeRoy Gaddis and Levi Davis, both of Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
Helen Victoria Duvall Demas
Helen Victoria Duvall Demas, 50, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. A resident for 28 years, she was a hotel waitress for 28 years, a World War II Women's Army Auxiliary Corps veteran, a registered lobbyist for 20 years and president of the Mobile Homeowners League for 28 years.
She is survived by one son, Victor Calvin, and one daughter, Johanna Coop, both of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Jaycee Senior Park Clubhouse. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.
Neal Robert Gaskill
Neal Robert Gaskill, 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born June 10, 1927, in Des Moines, Iowa. A resident for 21 years, he was a manager for Casa Royals Apartments for almost 20 years, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3848 of Henderson.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; two daughters, Judy Ferguson and Jan Hansen, and one son, Dan Gaskill, both of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Jack Goldman
Jack Goldman, 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A bus driver, he was born June 11, 1929, in Denver. He enjoyed camping, boating and especially water skiing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in 1993 and one son, Greg Goldman in 1992.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
No local services are scheduled. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Harry R. Hausmann
Harry R. Hausmann, 51, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A resident for 17 years, he was born Dec. 8, 1947, in Lynwood, Calif.
He is survived by his parents, Harry E. and Marguerite A. Hausmann of Las Vegas.

Steve A. Johnson
Steve A. Johnson, 35, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 27, 1963, in Minnesota. A resident for eight years, he was a wholesale customer service representative.
He is survived by his mother, Anita A. Keys of Las Vegas.

June Kastner
June Kastner, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born June 15, 1937, in Detroit. A resident for two years, she was a secretary for a restaurant supplier.
She is survived by her husband, David; one son, David Jr.; five daughters, Deb, Diana, Darlene, Dawn and Donra; two brothers, Ron and Earl; two sisters, Donna and Patricia; and 11 grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
James Miner
James Miner, 49, of Pahrump died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 28, 1949, in St. Louis. A resident for 25 years, he was a dealer.
He is survived by one daughter, Michelle Miner of Seattle; and one brother, Larry Randles of Pahrump.
A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
Robert A. Rhodes
Robert A. Rhodes, 44, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 24, 1955, in Chicago. A resident for three years, he was a floor manager for a stock brokerage.
He is survived by his mother, Dolores Vaglica, one brother, Steve Rhodes, and one sister, Laura Dumolin, all of Las Vegas.
Graveside services will be noon Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Wayne L. Sayer
Wayne L. Sayer, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 18, 1924, in Stella, Neb. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired oil landman, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Gold Searchers of Southern Nevada.
He is survived by his wife, Nita; two sons, Robert Sayer of Superior, Colo., and John Sayer of Livermore, Calif.; one brother, Robert Sayer of Arlington, Va.; and three grandchildren.
Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in the LDS Relief Society Room, 5100 E. Sun Valley Drive. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Robert Lee Schuman
Robert Lee Schuman, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 11, 1937, in Chillicothe, Ohio. A resident for four years, he was a retired inventory controller in the aerospace industry and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Helen M. Keef-Schuman of Las Vegas; two sisters, Patty Birchfield of Middletown, Ohio, and Juanita Berry of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.
Norman So
Norman So, 52, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 30, 1946, in Guan Xia, China. A resident for six years, he was a chef.
He is survived by his wife, Tanya; four daughters, Stephani So, Kaite So, Cynthia So and May May So, his mother, Anh Chan, and one brother, Bill Sou, all of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Alice Roybal of Reno and Jean Chau of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled noon-2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Helen E. Sost, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Oct. 8, 1911, in New York City. A resident for five years, she was a retired assistant supervisor for a parachute firm.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Cook of Las Vegas and Judith Hampson of Hamilton Square, N.J.; one sister, Anna Witkowski of Trenton, N.J.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Rosemary E. Tomlinson
Rosemary E. Tomlinson, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 30, 1926, in Ishpeming, Mich. A resident for 27 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Brian Tomlinson, Mark Tomlinson and Chris Tomlinson, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Paul Denn of Michigan; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Mary P. Yaccarino
Mary P. Yaccarino, 92, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born Aug. 8, 1906, in Jersey City, N.J. A resident for 10 months, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Andy Blumetti of Las Vegas and Paul Durso of Brea, Calif.; one daughter, Catherine Dooris of San Diego; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
