Junket airline Casino Express expands

George Warde, an airline industry veteran, has taken the helm of the casino junket airline owned by McClaskey Enterprises, owner of the Red Lion Inn and Casino.
Warde was hired by American Airlines in 1940 as an apprentice mechanic and worked his way up to become chief operating officer. He left American in 1974 when he took a job with Airbus Industries of North America.
Annette Kerr, McClaskey marketing director, said Warde was also chief financial officer of Continental Airlines and later started airlines of his own.
"He even thought about buying Casino Express when it was for sale," she said.
The airline that brings gamblers to Elko and is used for other charters across the country is also getting a new look.
The three Boeing 737s and the old "Queen" have been painted white.
"Do not expect to see the unique playing card paint scheme we used to have," Kerr said.
The jets were purchased from Air Portugal and will be put into service after modifications are complete.
