Work starts on two health care facilities

Two recent groundbreakings are designed to improve health care in the Las Vegas Valley.
University Medical Center has broken ground on a new adult emergency department.
The 52,000-square-foot building will have 52 examination rooms.
The Southwest Cancer Clinic has begun work on a new cancer center at the corner of Eastern and Twain avenues.
When completed, the new 30,000-square-foot center will offer services in oncology, hematology and radiation. It will house a stem cell transplantation unit, radiation facility and research department.
