Milwaukee police detective charged in second robbery

Monday, April 26, 1999 | 10:02 a.m.

Peter Pinchar, 45, was booked Friday into the Washoe County Jail for investigation of armed robbery and carrying a concealed weapon.

He initially was booked only in a Friday robbery at the Flamingo Hilton, but now also faces charges in a Wednesday robbery at the same resort.

Pinchar is a 17-year Milwaukee Police Department veteran who specialized in investigating robberies.

He was reported missing by the force on April 15 after failing to show up for work.

The detective stopped taking a medication for an undisclosed ailment on the day of his disappearance, said Milwaukee department spokeswoman Anna Ruzinski.

Police said Pinchar fled the Friday robbery the same way he arrived - by limousine.

The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money in the robberies.
