UNLV’s Froehlich leads German team against USA national squad

UNLV freshman forward Linda Froehlich will be in Colorado Springs this weekend to join the German Women's National Team, which will be playing in an exhibition game against USA Basketball's women's squad on Sunday at the Olympic Training Center.

Froehlich, who was the 1998-99 WAC scoring champion and both the Women's Basketball Journal and the United States Basketball Writers Association of America's national Freshman of the Year, will be competing against some of the best players the WNBA has to offer.

The exhibition game is part of the 1999 USA Basketball Women's National Team Spring Training Camp that opened on April 15 and includes five USA National Team core group members and 10 National Team hopefuls who will train through May 4.

Froehlich will tour with the German squad for the summer and return to Las Vegas after the tour for her sophomore year.
