Letter: Time to investigate police department
Thursday, April 22, 1999 | 12:07 p.m.
It seems to me that Metro is far too quick on the draw.
Why don't the police use stun guns or like devices when there might be some doubt about who it is they're shooting at with live bullets?
In the earlier case, the victim was wielding a knife about 10 yards from the cop who shot him dead.
Now, they've slaughtered some unarmed young fellow dribbling a basketball.
I think it's high time that Metro is taken to task for these kinds of questionable incidents. A thorough investigation should be launched.
