Women say man pulled gun on them

Two women walking a dog without a leash in Red Rock Canyon called Bureau of Land Management rangers Wednesday morning to report that a man had pulled a gun on them.

About 9:15 a.m. the women were confronted by a man who was upset that the dog was not on a leash on the trails, BLM spokesman Phillip Guerrero said.

"The women told the rangers that the man was belligerent with them and pulled a gun because the dog was not on a leash," Guerrero said.

Metro Police and BLM rangers located the man who denied having pulled a weapon on the women and denied having a weapon in his possession.

Authorities found a loaded gun in the man's car and gave him a federal citation for having a weapon on federal property.
