Letter: Test takers doomed without calculators
Wednesday, April 21, 1999 | 12:06 p.m.
Without passing this test the student is in danger of wasting 12 years of school. This year's test was difficult for the students trying to graduate.
Throughout their years of school the teachers allowed them to use calculators to compute their problems. But the test they are given does not allow them the use of these electronic helpers.
I would not say the teachers of Clark County are not maintaining their job, it's the people who harshly made the decision to ban the use of calculators.
