Eldorado senior James Bayless, a member of the Sun's 1999 all-state prep basketball first team, has signed a letter of intent to play for Nevada-Reno.
The 6-7 Bayless, who averaged 23 points and eight rebounds last winter, becomes the fourth local boys player to commit to a college. He joins Clark's Kevin Gaines (Michigan), Cheyenne's Demetrius Hunter (Georgetown) and Durango's Jason Burns (Georgetown).
"Being 6-7 and having the touch he has outside, he can do a lot of things," Eldorado coach Curtis Heathman said. "He's a level-headed kid and he understands what it takes to play at the next level."
