Authorities investigate inmates suicide

Placer County sheriff's Sgt. Bill Langton said Robert Nelson Perron, 50, of Sunnyvale, apparently hanged himself with a bedsheet early Tuesday.
Perron was found during a routine cell check at 12:30 a.m. Langton said the inmate was fine when checked a half hour earlier.
Efforts to revive Perron failed. He was taken to Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later, Langton said.
Perron was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on Monday for suspected drunken driving.
An investigation into his death continued.
