Thunder falls to Aeros

Despite allowing three third-period goals, the Houston Aeros beat the Las Vegas Thunder 4-3 in an IHL shootout Tuesday night at the Thomas & Mack Center. Mark Freer and Cam Stewart scored as the league-leading Aeros took the tiebreaker 2-0.
Houston took a 2-0 lead on second-period goals by Jim Shepard and David Oliver. Peter Zurba pulled the Thunder (35-37-7) within a goal 4:20 into the third period, and Ryan Mulhern tied the score at 7:19. The Aeros regained the edge 1:13 later, with Jeff Christian's 45th goal of the season, but allowed the game-tying power play goal by Chris Taylor at 15:09.
* All box, view and loge seats for the Thunder's final game against Utah Saturday night at the Thomas & Mack will be $1. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Thunder Circle, Thunder Zone and VIP Ice seats will be available for regular price. There will be a variety of Thunder souvenirs given away at the game, including autographed sticks, pucks and jerseys.
