CARSON CITY -- The Assembly Tuesday approved a bill that further protects casinos from paying jackpots when their slot machines malfunction.
Assembly Bill 583 says a player is not entitled to any winnings if the gaming device malfunctions. But to avoid paying, the casino must show there is a record of the malfunction stored in the computerized memory of the equipment and there is a public notice to the customer of the law.
The player, under the bill that goes to the Senate, is entitled to a refund of the wager.
