Max Algase, 81, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born April 6, 1918, in New York City. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired from the investment industry.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara A.

Saralee Balaun
Saralee Balaun, 60, of Henderson died March 29 in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 17, 1938, in Wisconsin. A resident for four years, she was a secretary for a retail company.
She is survived by one son, Curtis Balaum of Henderson; three daughters, Suzanne Tysor of Virginia, Deborah Dickinson of Las Vegas and Virginia Balaun of California; and her father, Harold Redfiled of Illinois. No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson handled arrangements.
Kenneth Ralston Carson
Kenneth Ralston Carson, 82, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 19, 1916, in Pawtucket, R.I. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired machinist for dry cleaning equipment and a member of the Masons.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; one son, Donald B. Carson of California; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from one hour prior to 11 a.m. graveside services Monday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
Juliette Carvalho
Juliette Carvalho, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 9, 1915, in Fall River, Mass. A resident for one year, she was a retired waitress.
She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Howard of Las Vegas; one son, Tony Carvalho of Kirkwood, Mo.; one sister, Dorothy McCormick of Sebastian, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Affordable Cremation & Burial Service is handling arrangements.
Bob Cleveland
Bob Cleveland, 64, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 18, 1934, in Tulsa, Okla. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired police officer, a member of the Zelzah Shrine, a general manager of Pete Findlay Oldsmobile for 24 years and a Korean War Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Pat, two daughters, Terry Mattes and Diana Paradiso, and one son, Robert Cleveland, all of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today, with a second visitation from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services are scheduled at 1 p.m. Sunday. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Cemetery.
Dale Darwin DePoy
Dale Darwin DePoy, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1930, in Osborne, Kan. A resident for 29 years, he was a floorman in the gaming industry and a Korean War Navy veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Renee Davis of Reno; one sister, Dee Ayres of Kansas; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday.
Helen Marie Dupree
Helen Marie Dupree, 69, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 3, 1929, in Kingsland, Ark. A resident for 44 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Ellie H.; four daughters, Thelma Harlan, Velma Ellis Grubbs, Birdie Dupree and Valerie Diaz, all of Las Vegas; two sons, Hugh Ellis Dupree and Lodis Earl Dupree; five brothers, Woodzell, Robert, Roy, Edward and Henry Harper; three sisters, Florine, Verneal and Margaret; and a host of grandchildren, great grand-children, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today at Harrison-Ross Mortuary, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday in Portals To Glory Church of God in Christ, 2301 Comstock Drive. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Emilie Helen Eaton
Emilie Helen Eaton, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 6, 1921, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 21 years, she was a waitress for cruise lines.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Kline of Feasterville, Pa; one brother, Frank Gabriel of Lady Lake, Fla.; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
No local services scheduled. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society handled arrangements.
Eduardo M. Galvan
Eduardo M. Galvan, 36, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born April 18, 1962, in Guadalajara, Mexico. A resident for 20 years, he was a baker for a hotel.
He is survived by his wife, Juana; two sons, Eric Daniel Galvan and Eduardo Emmanuel Galvan Jr., his parents, Jose and Guadalupe Galvan, five brothers, Alfredo Galvan, Jose Galvan, Marcos Galvan, Salvador Galvan and Carlos Galvan, all of Las Vegas; and four sisters, Susana Galvan, Leticia Galvan and Mercedez Garibay, all of Las Vegas, and Luz Maria Elizalde of Riverside, Calif.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 2-8 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Sunday at Palm. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Cemetery.

Helen Pauline Hall, 76, of Las Vegas Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born March 23, 1923, in Ohio. A resident for seven years, she was a waitress and a member of the Lady Elks.
She is survived by one son, Hoadley Wright; two daughters, Vickie L. Fuller and Connie L. Shurtliff; three sisters Virginia Mueller, Bernice Perry and Shirley Horn; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
No services are scheduled. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society handled arrangements.
Sean Paul Kaempfer
Sean Paul Kaempfer, 29, of Henderson died Sunday in Phillipsburg, Kan. He was born Feb. 6, 1970, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a mason in the construction industry and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his father, Jack Kaempfer of Henderson; three brothers, Joe Kaempfer of Seattle, Scott Kaempfer of Kansas and Jared Kaempfer of Henderson; and one sister, Tiffany Kaempfer of Henderson.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday with a 7 p.m. rosary at Hites Funeral Home chapel, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Hites chapel. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Vera I. Ludwig
Vera I. Ludwig, 86, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 26, 1912, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for one year, she was a medical and political secretary.
She is survived by her husband, Fred A.; two daughters, Patty Henderson of Cibolo, Texas and Penny Brister of Alturas, Calif.; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, handled private arrangements.
Gertrude M. Melanson
Gertrude M. Melanson, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born May 31, 1918, in New York state. A resident for eight years, she was a registered nurse and a World War II Navy veteran.
She is survived by four daughters, Mona Melanson of Illinois, Rea Melanson and Gail Bowman, both of Las Vegas, and Leslie Reed of Colorado; and nine grandchildren.
No services are scheduled. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society handled arrangements.
Edward Joseph O'Connor Jr.
Edward Joseph O'Connor Jr., 45, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born April 26, 1953, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 19 years, he was a real estate salesman and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Jennifer O'Connor of Las Vegas; one sister, Kathleen Lehan of Boston; and one brother, Kevin O'Connor of Sparta, N.J.
Visitation is scheduled from 3:30 until 6 p.m. services Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
John David O'Rourke
John David O'Rourke, 68, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 26, 1930, in Glen Cove, N.Y. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired manager of Otis Elevator Co. with 25 years of service and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn A.; one daughter, Shirley Stover of Las Vegas; one son, Ward Stover of Austin, Texas; one brother, Donald O'Rourke of Vancouver, Wash.; one sister, Ann Finnegan of Oyster Bay, N.Y.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Genevieve Mae Rauch
Genevieve Mae Rauch, 81, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 22, 1917, in Ohio. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, William E. Rauch Sr.; one daughter, Barbara; two sisters, June Bowman and By Bowman, both of Seal Beach, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Julius Stefanski
Julius Stefanski, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 12, 1914, in Ohio. A resident for 17 years, he was an operating engineer at a power plant and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Viola; one son, David Stefanski; nine brothers, Stanley Stefanski, Eugene Stefanski, Ervin Stefanski, Harry Stefanski, Leo Stefanski, John Stefanski, Paul Stefanski, Walter Stefanski and Leonard Stefanski; four sisters, Francis Grobowski, Dorothy Reimer, Isabell Wanda and Jean Sells; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society handled arrangements.
Noel Wendel Vanderpool
Noel Wendel Vanderpool, 65, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 28, 1933, in New York. A resident for 25 years, he was a respiratory therapist, a member of the NRBT, National Respiratory Care board for AARP and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Vanderpool; two sons, Wesley Vanderpool and Lawrence Vanderpool; one daughter, Noelle Vanderpool; six brothers, Charles, David, Bradley, Conrad, Ronald and Sheldon; and six sisters, Barbara, Norma, Carol, Marilyn, Ruth and Patricia.
No services are scheduled. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society handled arrangements.
Joseph C. Webb
Joseph C. Webb, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born June 18, 1924, in Pond Creek, Okla. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired truck driver for the Nevada Test Site and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Webb of Las Vegas and Raymond Webb of Blue Diamond; one brother, Earl Webb of Blackwell, Olka.; one sister, Mae Shafer of Wakita, Okla.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon until 3 p.m. services Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Cemetery.
