MTR said it plans to install about 450 of these new Las Vegas-style slots at its Mountaineer Racetrack & Gaming Resort in July. It will convert additional machines to coin drop as player preference dictates at a cost of about $1,100 per machine.
"We expect the sound of coins dropping to generate additional excitement in our gaming areas," said MTR Chief Executive Ted Arneault.
MTR also said that on April 2, Dynasty Games started operating slots at MTR's Ramada Inn and Speakeasy Casino in Reno, preserving the location's grandfathered status for casino gaming.
Dynasty Games leases the casino area from MTR pending MTR's application for casino licenses from the Nevada Gaming Commission. MTR has a similar arrangement at its Ramada Inn and Speedway Casino in North Las Vegas.
