Letter: Yugoslavians were on Allies’ side
Friday, April 9, 1999 | 12:05 p.m.
Burned out of their homes and villages by marauding troops, the Yugoslavian civilians flooding the countryside, blindly fleeing their oppressors. Those who failed to escape were sent off to concentration camps or shot.
The impact of this missive is: During World War II, these same people NATO is killing today were residents of the only Balkan nation who consistently fought on the side of the Allies!
Incidentally, the media has informed the world that NATO is running short of cruise missiles and also mentioned the high cost of conducting warfare in a foreign country (what say such tactical information be kept under wraps).
This brings us to Phase IV, about the time some of the NATO members lose faith in our "Slick" Willie and excuse themselves for various reasons, strike their tents and head for home.
