The man suspected of leaving a bomb in a Las Vegas Greyhound bus station and causing explosions at postal centers in Dallas and Washington, D.C., is set to go to trial June 8.
Frank Alexander, 53, responded with pleas of "guilty" and "no contest" at his arraignment today in federal court.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Lawrence Leavitt, however, said he could not accept the pleas and advised Alexander to take more time to consult with his federal public defender, Leslie Fatow. Leavitt, instead, instructed Alexander that the court would record his plea as not guilty.
At his initial appearance last Friday, Alexander said he would plead "guilty, no contest, whatever" to the charges before him that include the attempted murder of an employee of the U.S. government, attempted arson by use of an explosive, unlawful manufacture of a destructive device and two counts of use of a firearm or destructive device during and in relation to a crime.
