Suit seeks payment of commission

Las Vegas real estate brokerage Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Co. sued Los Angeles real estate firm Cushman Realty Corp., alleging it is owed nearly $263,000 in commission fees related to the sale last year of the Charleston Plaza Shopping Center, at 1800 E. Charleston Blvd.
The suit, filed in District Court, accuses Cushman of reneging on an agreement to split the commission on the sale of the shopping center with Lee & Associates.
The suit said Cushman was marketing Charleston Plaza for sale in late 1997. Lee approached Cushman with potential buyers, and Cushman agreed to split any commission if Lee brought a buyer to the table, says the suit.
In early 1998, Lee brought Cushman a $21 million offer from Paley-Dixon Inc.
In April, Paley-Dixon said it was transferring its position as buyer to Alexander Haagan Properties.
The suit says Cushman notified Lee it was dealing directly with Alexander Haagan and that Lee would not get commission.
