Summerlin home sales up 48 percent

The Howard Hughes Corp. said new home sales at its Summerlin master planned community are running at a record-setting pace and are up 48 percent compared to 1998 year-to-date.
"Summerlin also set a new sales record during January with 80 new homes sold in one week. The community is now growing by more than 200 new homes sales per month," the company said.
Hughes attributed the community's success to careful planning, an unparalleled location along the western edge of the Las Vegas Valley and a broad choice of homes.
