Hughes exec leaves for American Nevada

A top executive at the Howard Hughes Corp., the largest developer in Nevada, is leaving to join American Nevada Corp.
John Kilduff on Tuesday was named executive vice president and senior officer of American Nevada, developer of the Green Valley master planned community.
Kilduff will be responsible for American Nevada's community and commercial divisions, said Phillip Peckman, interim president of American Nevada and chief operating officer of the Greenspun Corp.
The Greenspun family controls American Nevada as well as the Las Vegas Sun and its sister publications.
Howard Hughes Corp. is developing the Summerlin master planned community and has extensive office, commercial and industrial holdings throughout the Las Vegas area.
Kilduff had been executive vice president at Hughes and was a member of the operations committee at Hughes's parent company, the Maryland-based Rouse Co. Kilduff was responsible for West Coast commercial development at Rouse.
Both companies have seen significant management shuffles in the past year. Eric A. "Tony" Traub resigned as president and chief executive of American Nevada last may. Later, Alan Perlmutter left. He had been chief operating officer of the commercial division.
Hughes Chief Executive John Goolsby and Controller Dennis Sizemore retired last year. Charlie McPhee, senior vice president of the commercial and industrial division, transferred within the company to be closer to family in suburban Los Angeles; and General Counsel Nick Niarchos left Hughes after 17 years.
Hughes is now led by Dan Van Epp, president of Summerlin; and senior vice president Mark Brown.
