Ice Dogs skate past Thunder

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- The Long Beach Ice Dogs (46-25-4) topped the Las Vegas Thunder 5-3 Wednesday night at Long Beach Arena to clinch a spot in the International Hockey League Western Conference playoffs.
Pavel Rosa won it with his eighth goal in five games.
The Ice Dogs broke open a close game with three third-period tallies, by Nathan Lafayette at 5:55, Rosa at 13:24 and Claude Jutras at 15:13.
