Reno editor new president of Nevada press group

Cunning succeeds Gwen Bogh Carter, publisher of the Lovelock Review-Miner. The election was held at the NPA's annual convention.
Tom Mitchell, editor of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, was elected first vice president. Rich Thurlow, publisher of the Pahrump Valley Times, was elected second vice president.
Elected to the NPA board of directors were:
Nick Baptista, publisher, North Lake Tahoe Bonanza; Linda Brown, publisher, Daily Sparks Tribune; Rex Steninger, editor and co-publisher, Elko Daily Free Press; Sandra Thompson, vice president/associate editor of the Las Vegas Sun; and Tony Hughes, co-publisher, Minteral County Independent-News, Hawthorne.
Association members voted to hold their 1999 convention in Yerington.
