Letter: President’s loyalists don’t realize harm done to country, himself
Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998 | 2:57 a.m.
His historical record is a long line of deceit. He has proven over and over again this flaw in his personality. This White House affair is not an isolated, one-time event. I am in favor of his impeachment.
Those who give him so much blind support are blind also to the great harm he does our society, with his ongoing mockery of those principles of honesty and integrity. His defense of his debauchery is insanity.
He is the commander-in-chief over the military. Think of all those who have been court-martialed for having done the same thing. Did anyone speak up for them? Neither have they for those in civilian life. It is insanity to have this double standard.
It undermines the whole justice system. No one in their right mind would demand such a system of laws. Yet that is just what 64 percent of those who are being polled are demanding.
He has and is making a mockery of our justice system, the office he holds and the sanctity of the house he lives in. I see nothing about his repentance that suggests that sincerity.
Clinton needs the help of his fellow citizens. Leaving him in office is not going to help. It will only cause him to believe his conduct is OK. Those who want to leave him in office are not concerned for him. They only think of themselves.
He does not know the difference between right and wrong. His wife and his other advisers likewise are interested only in themselves; otherwise they would seek professional help for him.
They, too, are blind as to how far he has fallen in his ability to know right from wrong.
