Letter: President could probably use some psychological, not spiritual, guidance
Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998 | 10:07 a.m.
Last Sunday Wolf Blitzer of TV's CNN twice asked Clinton's deputy chief of staff, John Podesta, if the president was seeking psychological help. The answer both times was that the president was seeking spiritual guidance.
It seems to me that attending church Sunday for the six-plus years of his presidency at least one hour, a total of well more than 300 hours, hasn't helped the president to control his obsessive-compulsive behavior.
I would think that 100 hours with a psychoanalyst would help him gain insight into his problem, thereby helping him to control his Satyriasis-like behavior. The big question is: Would the public tolerate any politician undergoing psychotherapy?
