Letter: Applause in order for candidates who avoid negative campaigning
Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998 | 10:06 a.m.
The way the other campaigns are going, we will again have a low voter turnout, with people scratching their heads wondering why no one shows up at the polls. Shame on Rep. John Ensign, Sen. Harry Reid and all the others for their negative politics.
Do they think we are so stupid that we do not know what they have accomplished, both positive and negative? Shame on them for taking things out of context to use against their opponents. Some of the information is more than a year old and has nothing to do with the present campaign.
Please, tell us what you plan to do for us and our state for the future. Be positive with your campaigns and just maybe the citizens will again take pride in their right to vote.
