The Douglas County Planning Commission on Tuesday supported changing the land use for only 1.5 acres of the property. The land is adjacent to the Lampe Corners project now under construction at the corner of Highway 395 and Waterloo Lane.
The seven-member planning board voted unanimously to uphold a staff recommendation against master plan and zone changes for the full 30.5 acres. The matter will go to the Douglas County Commission for final action.
Applicant Patty Clark is seeking a master plan amendment and accompanying zone changes to allow construction of a 64-room hotel-casino, 70-space recreational vehicle park, 36-lane bowling alley and three-acre park.
The plan also sought zoning for office space on 1.5 acres.
The planners only recommended the change for the 1.5 acres amid fears the Carson River could flood the surrounding land.
