Letter: Grieving father should face fact about his son
Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998 | 4:31 a.m.
If the district attorney's office probes the killing of Jason Lamb, as Rex Lamb (Jason's father) wishes, it will be wasting valuable time and taxpayer money.
Jason Lamb broke into another man's house and attacked him when he arrived home. What Jason Lamb didn't count on was the table turning. I sympathize with his father, having lost a son, but he has to realize his son committed a crime.
He believes that Tom Gaule was wrong in shooting his son. Who is he to say that? He said his son was "a good kid that did something wrong." Good people do wrong things all the time and they get punished for them.
Did he deserve to die? No, but it was a risk he took and I don't believe Jason Lamb knew what the consequences could have been when he first engaged in criminal activity.
