Letter: Flo-Jo deserves an apology

He says "in all probability, Florence Griffith-Joyner didn't see herself as conspiring with evil forces and she almost certainly didn't deal directly with Lucifer when presented with the option of taking performance-enhancing drugs."
Juipe went on to say that when Griffith-Joyner died in her sleep at age 38, "her penance came due."
In the Oct. 23 paper, one can read the truth: Flo-Jo died of an epileptic seizure.
Perhaps the reason her husband, Al Joyner, has not come forward to corroborate that Flo-Jo used drugs in the '80s is because maybe she didn't.
It is unfortunate that a sportswriter needs to write such trash and damaging diatribe when a person of such a high caliber and a role model has died. Why didn't Dean Juipe write something similar while this great lady was alive and certainly would have defended herself and her reputation?
In my opinion, Dean Juipe doesn't have the class to carry Flo-Jo's equipment bag.
May she rest in peace and may her family find strength knowing that there are many of us who miss her.
