Letter: Tattoos are graffiti for the body
Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998 | 11:55 a.m.
Covering your body with graffiti and making it look like the walls of a ghetto is the trendy thing to do. Like all fads, they soon disappear and then the real problem begins. The tattooing process is permanent. A $20 tattoo will cost hundreds, probably thousands of dollars to remove.
But I am not against a person getting a tattoo. In retrospect, I would suggest that everyone get a small tattoo. It should be located on their upper left shoulder (like mine), so it can be hidden by a short sleeve shirt.
It will be there forever to serve as a reminder. When you first get up in the morning and look in the mirror, to tell yourself: "Don't do something else stupid today!"
