Brief: UNLV’s index stumbles a bit
Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998 | 4:01 a.m.
UNLV's Center for Business and Economic Research said eight of the index's 10 indicators contributed negatively to the index. The biggest declines were in commercial and residential construction.
The index is a forecast for the economy in February 1999 based on data from August.
"All in all, the index gives no clear signal of expansion or contraction -- caution remains the clear signal," the Center for Business and Economic Research said.
