Letter: TV network shows Clinton support
Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998 | 11:48 a.m.
A few words were allowed for hopeful President-Elect Al Gore to praise his boss, then President Clinton made an election year speech (at one point saying how sorry co-pres Hillary was that she had to be in Chicago -- making a campaign trip for him).
Except for CNN and C-SPAN, no other network saw fit to publicize this nonpeace agreement. They treated it for what it is -- a piece of paper they must take back to the Middle East for approval of their people. Good Luck!
As usual the Israelis gave away too much and Yasser Arafat can smile all the way home. He came out smelling like a rose! Mr. Clinton, give credit where credit is due -- these people could have done as well and stayed in their own country while doing it.
