Brief: Casinos hire greater percentage of the disabled

This indicates the New Jersey gaming industry hires more workers with disabilities than other industries -- just 4.6 percent of the state's work force has some disability.
The state requires casinos to recruit and hire people with disabilities. The Rutgers study resulted in part from a lawsuit brought against the state Casino Control Commission by three groups representing the disabled.
Their lawsuit required the CCC to have regulations for the disabled similar to affirmative-action regulations for minorities and women.
