Brief: Readers vote to keep swimsuit girls
Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998 | 11:52 a.m.
The weekly Las Vegas tab recently conducted a poll of its readers to determine whether political correctness dictated that it remove the photo of a bikini-clad woman that runs on the back page each issue.
Of 971 respondents, 82 percent voted to keep the photo in its current location.
Gaming Today Publisher Chuck Di Rocco was amazed by the response to the poll.
"I'm shocked," said Di Rocco. "Not that she won big but that so many people took the time out to respond."
Most didn't just check the 'Keep the Girl' box on their ballot -- they added "passionate" comments, said Di Rocco.
"I really thought that it was something that the readers should decide," he said.
And decide they did.
"It's gonna stay there," said Di Rocco.
