Harry E. Abbott, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 12, 1921, in Springfield, Ill. A resident for five years, he was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War.

He is survived by two daughters, Karen E. Abbott of Las Vegas and Helen M. Young of Rancho Murrieta, Calif.; one son, Robert J. Abbott of Coto de Caza, Calif.; two brothers, Richard D. Abbott of Moraga, Calif., and Wilbur L. Abbott of Whitehall, N.Y.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Emanuel Alalouf

Emanuel Alalouf, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born July 3, 1918, in New York City. A resident for 19 years, he was a retired elementary school principal and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; one sister, Bess Meisler of Los Angeles; one grandchild and two grandchildren.

Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is arranging private services.

Kathryn 'Kitty' Ann Bowling

Kathryn "Kitty" Ann Bowling, 56, of Las Vegas and Denton, Texas, died Monday in a local hospice. She was born June 21, 1942, in Pittsburgh. A resident of Las Vegas for six years, she was a clerical worker.

She is survived by four sons, David Reed of Smithton, Pa., John Bowling of Hoyt Lakes, Minn., Glenn Reed of Denton and Jesse Parker Jr. of Las Vegas; two daughters, Bonnie Limon and Jennifer Cook, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Bonnie Sheppard of Westview, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Juan Carlos Lopez Buenrostro

Juan Carlos Lopez Buenrostro, 21, of Las Vegas died Oct. 13 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 15, 1977, in Mexico. A resident for two years, he was a laborer for a manufacturing company.

He is survived by his parents, Gloria and Jose Lopez, two sisters, Sandra Lopez and Alejandra Lopez, and three brothers, Jose Angel Lopez, Luis F. Lopez and Rafael Lopez, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Jose and Maria De Jesus Lopez of Mexico.

Visitation is scheduled 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Albert S. Ferguson

Albert S. Ferguson, 85, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 24, 1912, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 55 years, he was a former mayor of North Las Vegas in 1956 and a retired heavy equipment operator at Nevada Test Site's Area 12.

He is survived by his wife, Fay; one daughter, Erlene Johnson of Virginia; three sons, Albert E. Ferguson of Virginia, John W. Griffen of Texas and Ruben J. Griffen of Nevada; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Panaca Cemetery. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Penni A. FitzGerald

Penni A. FitzGerald, 59, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born March 2, 1939, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 58 years, she was a retired management assistant.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis; one stepson, Dennis FitzGerald of Los Angeles; one stepdaughter, Kathy Terry of Billings, Mont.; and two brothers, Terrence Powers of San Diego and Rundell Powers of Salt Lake City.

Orion T. Henderson

Orion T. Henderson, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 5, 1919, in Stamps, Ark. A resident for seven years, he was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Della; one sister, Gloria Fallick of Toronto; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Eugene O. Hicks

Eugene O. Hicks, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born March 5, 1929, in Anniston, Ala. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired book publisher and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Conchita; one son, Terry Meier of Henderson; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pauline H. Hoss

Pauline H. Hoss, 93, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 27, 1904, in Chicago. A resident for 3 1/2 years, she was a retired material records investigator for an aircraft company.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Todd of Las Vegas.

Mona R. Jamison

Mona R. Jamison, 89, of Boulder City died Monday in a local hospital. She was born April 4, 1909, in Warren, Ariz. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired legal secretary.

She is survived by two daughters, Mona Gay Johnson and Charlotte L. "Bonnie" Freeman, both of Escondido, Calif.; one son, Richard Leslie Thompson of Castaic, Calif.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Queen Johnson

Queen Johnson, 82, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born June 28, 1916, in Torrance, Miss. A resident for two years, she was a retired seamstress for a mattress company.

Visitation is scheduled noon-1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

George Kastris

George Kastris, 84, of Las Vegas died Oct. 13 in a Utah medical center. He was born Dec. 9, 1913, in Ruth. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired casino dealer.

He is survived by one brother, Jack Kastris of Vienna, Va.; and one sister, Virginia Proutsos of McGill.

Visitation was scheduled 2-4 p.m. today at Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St.

Iris Leccese

Iris Leccese, 95, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 26, 1903, in New Jersey. A resident for 26 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three grandchildren, Christi Dudeck, Thomas Sculthorpe and Paula Bartolome, all of Las Vegas; and four great-grandchildren.

Bick Ming Lee

Bick Ming Lee, 88, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Sept. 15, 1910, in Canton, China. A resident for more than 50 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Joy Nunes of Henderson.

J.B. Long

J.B. Long, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 9, 1920, in Bloomfield, Ky. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired transportation employee for the state of California, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Vegas Lodge 32, Scottish Rite Bodies of Las Vegas and Zelzah Shrine Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Cox-Long; and one sister, Phyllis Hungate of Louisville, Ky.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Zelzah Shrine Temple, 2222 W. Mesquite Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Rudy Morales

Rudy Morales, 58, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 13, 1939, in Florida. A resident for 26 years, he was a hotel-casino supervisor and a veteran of the National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; two sons, Joseph Morales of Henderson and Jason Sagreti of Mississippi; three daughters, Sylvia Morales, Sandy Garcia and Sheri Morales, and his parents, Raymond and Horlivia Morales, all of Florida; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Oct. 31 in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. A reception will follow at the Henderson Convention Center. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Marjorie M. Muir

Marjorie M. Muir, 81, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care center. She was born April 6, 1917, in Warren, Ohio. A resident for nine years, she was an assembler for General Motors for 23 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Marjorie Krochka of Las Vegas; one sister, Beatrice Craver of Warren; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mark Ivan Nielsen

Mark Ivan Nielsen, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born June 2, 1918, in Dagmar, Mont. A resident for five years, he was a retired service station owner-operator, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Lions Club in Fairbanks, Alaska.

He is survived by his longtime friend, Leanne Morris of Las Vegas; two daughters, Catherine Ibsen of Wilmington, N.C., and Alice Shane of Walden, N.Y.; two sons, Dan Nielsen and Mark Nielsen, both of Fairbanks; two sisters, Jane Christiansen of Camano Island, Wash., and Dorothy Gazy of Tucson, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

George J. Saphire Sr.

George J. Saphire Sr., 70, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1927, in Newark, N.J. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired credit manager, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Rudell; two sons, George J. Saphire Jr. and Greg Saphire, and three daughters, Deborah West, Kathleen Rodriguez and Christine Siciliano, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Marie Arida of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one brother, Emil Saphire of Matawan, N.J.; and nine grandchildren.

Paul Segal

Paul Segal, 63, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 15, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, he was a waiter at the Sahara hotel-casino and a former member of the Culinary Union.

He is survived by three sons, Jed Freeman of Redding, Calif., and Scott Freeman and Barry Freeman, both of Maplewood, N.J.; one brother, Melvin Segal of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 11:30 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Marion E. Shafer

Marion E. Shafer, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 17, 1915, in Baltimore. A resident for 21 years, she was a registered nurse.

Neal L. Snook Sr.

Neal L. Snook Sr., 48, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 13, 1950, in Nevada. A resident for 15 years, he was a former member of the Teamsters Union and a member of the Moose.

He is survived by his fiancee, Ester Micheletty of Las Vegas; two daughters, Melanie S. Rohleder and Pixie Eaves, both of Marysville, Calif.; two sons, Neal L. Snook Jr. and Thomas M. Snook, both of Las Vegas; his parents, Albert and Joanne Snook of Hilo, Hawaii; two brothers, Larry Snook and Jerel C. Snook, both of Marysville; and eight grandchildren.

Hoa Ai Tran, 68, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born April 2, 1930, in Haimam, China. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Tuu Vuong; one daughter, Truong Lan Vuong, and two sons, Tony Vuong and Thon Vuong, all of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Orazio Antonio Voltura

Orazio Antonio Voltura, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 10, 1917, in Stamford, Conn. A resident for 21 years, he was a communications specialist for the New York Port of Authority for 20 years, a World War II Coast Guard veteran, a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Mary A.; four sons, Robert F. Voltura of San Diego, William A. Voltura of Bow, N.H., Drew A. Voltura of Pocatello, Idaho, and Jerry A. Voltura of Las Vegas; two brothers, Joseph Voltura of New York state and James Voltura of the Bronx, N.Y.; two sisters, Rose Voltura of the Bronx and Emily Ferrara of Tarrytown, N.Y.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with a 7 p.m. rosary at Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Holy Family Catholic Church.

Rade Rudy Vuceta

Rade Rudy Vuceta, 73, of Stateline, died Oct. 9 in Stateline. He was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Steubenville, Ohio. A former Las Vegas resident from 1950-70, he was a manager and shift boss in the gaming industry.

He is survived by three sons, David Vuceta of Gardnerville, Christian Vuceta of Los Angeles and Jason Vuceta of Lake Tahoe; one daughter, Kyle Vuceta of Lake Tahoe; two brothers, Nick Vuceta and Mike Gnatovich, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Ann Mavromatis of Steubenville; and three grandchildren.

David D. Wilson

David D. Wilson, 77, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A World War II Army veteran, he was born Jan. 21, 1921. He was a resident for eight years.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; one daughter, Sarah E. Bennett of Herndon, Va.; and two grandchildren.
