Brief: Harrah’s $840 million casino advances

Gaming Control Board approval is needed as Harrah's prepares to resume construction on its stalled New Orleans casino.
The New Orleans City Council last week approved a revised lease for the $840 million project, clearing one of the last hurdles before it can emerge from bankruptcy and resume construction.
The city owns the land on which the casino is built.
