Clara June Benoit, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 18, 1930, in San Jacinto, Calif. A resident for 31 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Felix; two sons, Vinny Benoit of Henderson and Jim Benoit of Las Vegas; one daughter, Billie Benoit of Las Vegas; three sisters, Bessie Fowler, Helen Cursi and Polly Crosland, all of Fresno, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Jesse L. Brooks
Jesse L. Brooks, 82, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 14, 1915, in Sikeston, Mo. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired owner of Oasis Grocery Store and Bar in Indian Springs for many years, a World War II and Korean War Air Force veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Masons.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn L.; two sons, William L. Brooks of Picayune, Miss., and Ivan L. Brooks of Las Vegas; three daughters, LaVern A. Smith, Barbara J. Matza and Loretta K. Camp, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Lyman A. Brooks of Parago, Ark.; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens.
The family suggests donations to Echoes of Faith Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 600, Indian Springs, NV 89018.
Anna Marie French
Anna Marie French, died Oct. 7, her date of birth, in a local hospital.
She is survived by her father, James Edward French; her mother, Alecia Christine Spradlin; and one sister, Kristina Breann French.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Jimmie Nell King
Jimmie Nell King, 65, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A retired receptionist, she was born June 23, 1933, in Mississippi.
She is survived by two sons, Marzell and Bobby, and three daughters, Wanda, Belinda and Susie, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Rudolph Powell and Billy Powell; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North, North Las Vegas. Services will be noon Tuesday in the Power House Church of God in Christ. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Lawrence Allen Pope
Lawrence Allen Pope, 52, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 12, 1946, in Los Angeles. A resident for 13 years, he was a government electronics technician and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two sons, James Pope and Scott Pope, and one daughter, Michelle Pope, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Pamela Hostetter of Missouri and Charleen Emberson of Arkansas; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Vera K. Rheinick
Vera K. Rheinick, 91, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Sept. 9, 1907, in Kansas. A resident for 29 years, she was a telephone operator at a bank.
She is survived by one daughter, Gwendolyn Bahr of Las Vegas; four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
A nicheside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Shirley V. Sirizzotti
Shirley V. Sirizzotti, 76, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born May 5, 1922, in Stamford, Conn. A resident for 45 years, she was a retired nurse from St. Mary's Hospital in Reno and a 1997 Auxiliarian of the Year at University Medical Center.
She is survived by two daughters, Myra Martindale and Candy Stone, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Michael Tosches of Reno and Steve Gennerich of Las Vegas; one sister, Francis J. Battell of New York City; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
