David Bronder, 73, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 9, 1924, in Pleasanton, Texas. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired hotel carpenter, a World War II veteran, a member of the Carpenters Union and the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by one daughter, Victoria Johnson of Las Vegas; one sister, Josephine Keith of San Antonio, Texas; three brothers, Ben Bronder, Fred Bronder and Tony Bronder, all of California; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-5 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday in Palm Memorial Park. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Calvin Chaplin

Calvin Chaplin, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 28, 1924, in Clifton, N.J. A resident for 50 years, he owned and operated Don's Jewelers, was a member of the Boys and Girls Club of Las Vegas and the Sertoma Club.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; two daughters, Deborah Kessler of Boulder City and Courtney Chaplin of Las Vegas; one son, Mitchel Chaplin of New Jersey; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

The family suggests donations to public television or the Denver Jewish Hospital.

Riley Michelle Cooke

Riley Michelle Cooke, 9 months, died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 30, 1997, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her parents, Michael and Jaime Cooke, and her grandparents, Mike and Vanita Ditto and Ken and Sharon Cooke, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Glen Davis

Glen Davis, 73, died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 20, 1924, in Las Vegas. A lifelong Las Vegas resident, he was an automobile mechanic and World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; one son, Jeffrey Lee, and two daughters, Deborah Lee and Janet Boyle, all of Las Vegas; one brother, LeMoine Davis of Alamo; one sister, Leila Moorhead of Washington state; and six grandchildren.

Lilly E. Fulton

Lilly E. Fulton, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 5, 1924, in Newburyport, Mass. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired English teacher and counselor at Basic High School for many years and an English instructor at Clark County Community College until January 1998, a drummer in the Almch Band with Daughters of the Nile, worthy matron of the Desert Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and member of the Clark County Teachers Association.

She is survived by one son, Robert Burg of Phoenix; and two sisters, Eulia Feutz of Peoria, Ariz., and Patricia Stamnas of Rochester, N.H.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. Sunday with Eastern Star and Trisagion services at 7 p.m. in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 5300 S. El Camino Road. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

The family suggests donations to the Desert Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Joseph Morton Gabler

Joseph Morton Gabler, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 16, 1918, in Illinois. A resident for 15 years, he was a carpenter and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one son, Richard Gabler of Ballwin, Mo.; three sisters, Jane Kaufman of Winter Park, Fla., Anne Zuckerman of Chicago and Victoria Singer of North Carolina; and two grandchildren.

Donald Mack

Donald Mack, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. He was born July 24, 1924, in Illinois. A resident for six years, he was a sales director in the advertising industry and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; four sons, Gary Mack, Phillip Mack, Howard Mack and Peter Mack; two brothers, Bernie Mack and Joe Mack; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Manuel Lee Matysek

Manuel Lee Matysek, 82, of Las Vegas died Oct. 7 in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 24, 1916, in Tennessee. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley; two sons, Byron Smith and Roujak Sani, and one daughter, Maxcyne Robinson, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Hites Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Kenneth Manard McCourry

Kenneth Manard McCourry, 67, of Laughlin died Oct. 8 in Laughlin. He was born April 10, 1931, in Oregon. A resident for six months, he was a retired Army chef and Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by three sons, Richard McCourry of Michigan, Ken McCourry of South Dakota and Gary McCourry of New York; and one daughter, Denise Bowers of Michigan.

Graveside services will be 8:30 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Elvis E. Merryman

Elvis E. Merryman, 62, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 20, 1935, in Arkansas. A resident for 37 years, he was a hotel-casino floor supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, June; one son, Mike Merryman; one daughter, Marisa Hastings; and one brother, Bob Merryman.

Gertrude A. Pike

Gertrude A. Pike, 91, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 20, 1906, in California. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Henry Pike of California and Robert E. Pike of Texas; five daughters, Claura Morgan, Gertrude Warner and Laura Pound, all of California, Roberta Hanks of Texas and Starr Wilson of Las Vegas; one brother, Jack Fry, and one sister, Lillian Schmitz, both of California; 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Elaine Plumley

Elaine Plumley, 72, of Sandy Valley died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 6, 1926, in Benton Harbor, Mich. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired change person for Anchor Coin and a former employee of Public Storage.

She is survived by two daughters, Priscilla "Sandy" Bale of Sandy Valley and Marianne Reeves of Martinez, Calif.; one son, Don Plumley of Chalmette, La.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Patricia Ann Pushor

Patricia Ann Pushor, 68, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A resident for four years, she was born April 6, 1930, in Fargo, N.D.

She is survived by her husband, Richard D.; two sons, Richard A. Pushor of Littleton, Colo., and Scott D. Pushor of Arlington, Texas; one daughter, Susan Dickson of Anaheim, Calif.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-5 p.m. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

G. Harvey Saunders

G. Harvey Saunders, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 26, 1918, in Camden, N.J. A resident for nine years, he was a retired chemist at JB Chemical Co., Inc., associate member of the North Las Vegas Elks and a lifetime member of the Elks Club Paterson (N.J.) 60.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene; two sons, Wayne Saunders and Marvin Coon, and one daughter, Kathy Coon, all of Springfield, Va.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

The family suggests contributions to the local Elks Lodge or the donor's favorite charity.

Dorothy May Shockey

Dorothy May Shockey, 96, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born July 4, 1902, in Oklahoma. A resident for 13 years, she was a telephone operator and a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by one great-niece, Donna K. Riley of Illinois.

John Streitenberger Jr.

John Streitenberger Jr., 57, died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 8, 1941, in Oak Park, Ill. A Las Vegas resident for 29 years, he was a retired taxi driver and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Monique; one son, Robert M. Streitenberg, and one daughter, Michelle Martinez, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Ruth Sellers of Geneva, Ala.; one sister, Diane Class of Boston; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 3 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. A private burial followed.

Harold Lloyd Wallace

Harold Lloyd Wallace, 73, of Henderson died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Wilson Carter County, Okla. A resident for 46 years, he was a retired welder for a titanium metal producer, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Elks and United Steel Workers Union.

He is survived by one daughter, Patti Martinez, and one son, William Wallace, both of Henderson; one stepson, James Wooten of Oklahoma City; one sister, Odelle Lewis of Henderson; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Marta Weber

Marta Weber, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 1, 1937, in Poland. A resident for many years, she was a chef.

She is survived by one daughter, Renee Weber of California; and two sons, David Weber and Martin Weber, both of New York.

Lillian Mae Weiler

Lillian Mae Weiler, 94, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born March 5, 1904, in Dyersburg, Tenn. A resident for 30 years, she was a homemaker and widow of Capt. Jack Weiler, a Bureau of Reclamation officer for Boulder Dam.

She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Ragsdale of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Mae E. Williams

Mae E. Williams, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 30, 1917, in Louisiana. A resident for eight years, she was a public school teacher.

She is survived by two sons, Wendell Williams and Jabari Williams; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Edward Woodhall

Edward Woodhall, 94, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born June 16, 1904, in Liverpool, England. A resident for 11 years, he was an apartment manager, a veteran of the Merchant Marines and a member of the Masons.

Emily Zembik

Emily Zembik, 89, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 22, 1909, in Hawaii. A resident for 30 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Eleanor Volke of Las Vegas, Dorothy Shafer of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Irene Rusch of California; two sons, Frank Zembik of Prescott, Ariz., and Zem Zembik of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Bridget's Catholic Church, 220 N. 14th St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
