Letter: Watch out for junk mail

Then there are the requests for money. Pitiful requests. I learned long ago to filter these organizations because many are as phony as a $2 bill.

We are as generous as we can afford but we are not dummies! We check them out. Whenever we are offered something for nothing I say, "Forget it! I am not interested."

Trust me, not them. You would be a patsy. Nobody gets anything for nothing.

The holiday season is about to arrive and then the pitiful prayers of phony promotions will come. And come. Ignore them. Give to legitimate organizations which really help people in need.

You should tell the rest to go to you know where!
